Publishers Description
When opposites attract, sparks fly--like an electrical malfunction. That's what happens when former rodeo queen, Natalie Adams meets the new pastor in Diamond Falls. Upon the death of her father, Natalie returns to the Flint Hills to raise her two half-siblings and run the family ranch, giving up her dreams for the future. She soon realizes her time in college and as Miss Rodeo Kansas is not enough to break the bonds that held her as a girl. Jared Logan, a new pastor in Diamond Falls, is set on making a good impression to his first congregation, but finds that change doesn't come easy for some people. In fact, most in his congregation are set against it. Natalie and her troubled family provide an outlet for his energy and soon become his personal mission project. Having raised her stepbrother and sister from an early youth, Natalie's self-sufficient nature isn't inclined to accept help, especially from a city-boy do-gooder like Jared Logen. Though attracted to him, there's no way she'd ever consider being a pastor's wife. Bible studies and bake sales just aren't her thing. Jared repeatedly comes to Natalie's rescue, forcing her to see him with new eyes. At the same time, Jared's plan to plant Christ's word in Natalie's heart backfires when he loses his own heart to this wayward family. When problems arise in his congregation, he must face his greatest fears---of letting down God, his congregation, or those he loves. His time with Natalie has shown him the importance of standing by those you love, a lesson he chose to ignore in order to please his father years ago. This is put to the test when Natalie faces a battle of custody of her half-siblings against the mother who abandoned them twelve years ago. Natalie's fight for the children turns into a fight for custody of her heart as she learns the true meaning of unconditional love. In turn, Jared must decide which dreams are his own---and whether Natalie is part of those dreams.

It's All About Dreams  Jun 5, 2010
Former rodeo queen Natalie puts her dreams on hold after her father dies and she leaves college to run his ranch and care for her two half-siblings. Grief and money worries raise the angst, and then these kids' mom shows up, with her own agenda, after everybody thought she died years ago. Handsome new pastor Jared has dreams, too. He teeters at the brink of failure, but he always seems to show up when Natalie needs him most. Can he reconcile his own issues and turn these seeds of failure into seeds of hope? And can he help Natalie come full circle in her understanding of God?

This story of love, forgiveness and faith plays out in the breathtaking Kansas Flint Hills.

Review by Audrey Hebbert, M.A., author of Green Light Red Light

Seeds of Summer a perfect summer read  Jun 4, 2010
Thrilled to have an early look at Seeds of Summer. Author, Deborah Vogts fleshes out characters you can't help but root for. The young heroine must overcome the loss of her dreams, the added responsibility of raising her siblings, and the rediscovery of her faith. You can't help but hope she does. This story set in the Kansas Flint Hills will make you long for a time when life was simpler, all the while giving you the strength to face the struggles of today.

A Beautiful Story to be Savored  May 29, 2010
I would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" to Deborah Vogts and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Seeds of Summer" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.

"Seeds of Summer" by Deborah Vogts is Book Two in the Seasons of the Tallgrass series. This sweet novel is built of one heart-clutching sigh after another. Natalie Adams no longer just has herself to worry about. Her step-mother is gone and her father has died, leaving her to care for her half-brother and half-sister. So, the former rodeo queen is forced to grow up. Pastor Jared Logan is trying to help, but Natalie doesn't want to accept charity from anyone. Jared has other struggles that are discouraging him as well. Will a love growing between the two of them be the balm to heal them both or the catalyst that tears them apart?

This is a lovely novel set on the Kansas prairie that begs to be savored slowly with a glass of sweet tea on a porch swing! Vogts' prose drips with a charming southern drawl that will saturate even the most avid reader's heart. It is easy to come alongside Natalie's character and cheer her on as she overcomes life's obstacles and raises to the challenges that for too many young people have faced. I guarantee this book will leave you with a smile on your face.
